BBQ at Jamaat al Muslimeen compound

While police were calling a press conference on the foiled plot to blowup JFK Airport in New York, things were relatively calm at the Mucurapo compound of the Jamaat al Muslimeen yesterday afternoon with the only noticeable activity being a fund-raising BBQ.
The BBQ brought a small group of Jamaat members to the compound yesterday afternoon.
A group of around 30 people, some in hijab and Islamic garb, chatted and ate food as two people manned grills inside the hall just off the main building of the compound. Outside, a few cars drove in and out from Mucurapo Road. A colourful poster inside the hall simply billed the event as a fund-raiser. Later this month, a sports and family day is scheduled to take place.
